Delaware has 3 counties, which each have their own trial courts. The Superior Court hears civil cases involving over $50,000 in damages and felony criminal cases, and also serves as an intermediate appellate court for civil and criminal cases emanating from lower trial courts. The Court of Chancery is a special court, which exclusively handles corporate law cases, and trust and estate cases. Any further appellate review is heard by the Delaware Supreme Court.

The three most populated municipalities in Delaware are Wilmington, Dover, and Newark.
