Rhode Island consists of 5 counties, each with their own trial courts. The Superior Courts handle all felony criminal cases and civil cases involving damages in excess of $5,000 and it also handles the appeals from lower trial courts. Any further appellate review is handled by Rhode Island Supreme Court.

The three largest cities in Rhode Island are Providence, Warwick, and Cranston
